How Big Is an Acre?

Clearing and site prep are priced by the acre, so it helps to picture the size of your lot before you call. Quick cheat-sheet:

43,560

square feet

Exactly what 1 acre equals.

209 × 209

feet (square)

A square 1-acre lot is about 209 ft on each side.

~75%

of a football field

About three-quarters of a full field.

Quick tip: a 200 ft × 200 ft plot is 40,000 sq ft — about 0.92 acre, just under a full acre. Pace off your lot (a normal step is roughly 2.5–3 ft), multiply length × width, and divide by 43,560 for your acreage. Not sure? Send us the address and we'll measure it off the map.

Two Ways to Clear Your Land

Land clearing in Duval County is done one of two ways depending on the terrain, vegetation, and what you want left behind. We coordinate both — Flat-Deck Mowing for open fields and light brush, and Forestry Mulching for heavy undergrowth, saplings, and trees.

Flat-Deck Mowing

A rotary flat-deck (bush-hog style) cutter knocks down tall grass, weeds, and light brush fast and cheap. Best for maintaining fields, fire breaks, fence lines, and overgrown lots where you don't need the material ground into mulch. Leaves the ground clean and ready for the next pass.

  • Open fields & pastures
  • Light brush & tall grass
  • Lowest cost per acre

Forestry Mulching

A forestry mulcher grinds heavy undergrowth, saplings, and whole trees into mulch in a single pass — no burning, no hauling. The mulch stays on-site as erosion control and weed suppression. Best for wooded lots, thick underbrush, and fire-fuel mitigation.

  • Wooded lots & heavy underbrush
  • Saplings & trees up to 6 inches
  • No burning or hauling — mulch stays on-site
